In half hour you ca reach Syracuse (UNESCO site), where you can see the Greek theater and the archaeological site area, the Museum "Paolo Orsi" (very interesting and internationally renowned), or the island of Ortigia, a good place also for evening excursions and where you can also try out local food specialties in a large amount of typical restaurants to choose from; simply walking for the streets of Ortigia can be a gorgeous experience, adventuring through its little narrow street filled or baroque sculptures and building facades. There are also little mountain-side towns tha can be reached in about a hour, places of the likes of Buccheri, Buscemi, and Palazzolo, where you will find museums, good typical eatery and the "Val Di Anapo" valley. There also are various natural resorts, the Natural Reserves, the little ponds of sweet water in "Cava Grande" (Avola Antica 14km), the splendid beaches in the reserve Calamosca and Eloro resorts(Calamosca 10km, Eloro 8km), the slushes, reachable in less than half hour from Casa di Antonella. Very interesting also the other Baroque cities: Scicli, Ragusa, Modica (UNESCO sites). You can visit the volcano Etna (86), its observatory and park, and its magnificent scenery.
